If in Ramadan I only wanted to tell stories,
in Syawal I just want to come home.
To kiss Ibuk’s hand,
to ask for forgiveness,
and to hear Ibuk say
that everything has been forgiven.
But now,
I entrust every apology
through prayer.
I begin to understand,
this loss does not leave when Ramadan ends,
and it doesn’t fade on Eid Day.
It stays, but it no longer only brings pain.
